This is a lovely 50s dress made of black satiny taffeta with a floral motif embroidered overall.  The dress was made by “Murray Bowen & Company Montreal”.  It has a squared neckline, short sleeves and black velvet ribbon with “bow” applied under the neckline.  The skirt is cut full, like a circle skirt, and posed with a crinoline, but no crinoline is supplied.  The dress does up the side with a metal zipper.   

Sizing: No size is indicated on this 50s dress, and although this should fit a medium to large size, please note the following measurements for fit, taking into account the style of the dress:

Bust:  40” around, taken at the underarms - appears large due to cut of sleeve

Waist:  30” around

Hips:  Full / 44”, meant to fall loosely

Length:  47” long, measured flat

Condition:  This 50s dress is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odors - this dress looks to have seen little use and was well stored over the years.
